Rupa Wood
Meteor Shower
we need more time together
to be more than lives that nearly touched
wishing I was bored but it’s not our destiny
nonetheless, lying under all our stars
is the only honest place to which we return
to be faithful in the black hole bath
you close a moth eyelid over inner space
I wake to find you standing over me
with the fabric of time stretched out
into all the fluffy towels of the universe
my high fantasy softly folded
I want to forget we’re not together
we need more time apart
we need more time apart
I want to forget we’re not together
my high fantasy softly folded
into all the fluffy towels of the universe
with the fabric of time stretched out
I wake to find you standing over me
you close a moth eyelid over inner space
to be faithful in the black hole bath
is the only honest place to which we return
nonetheless, lying under all our stars
wishing I was bored but it’s not our destiny
to be more than lives that nearly touched
we need more time together
