Following the last two years success, we are proud to announce the return of our Third Annual Short Story Competition. Returning to find the best short stories in English from around the globe, we welcome entrants from across the world.
The competition will be judged by Polly Samson, the author of two collections of short stories and a novel, and Harriet Kline, the winner of last year’s short story competition.
As usual, the winner will be published in a future issue of the magazine and receive a £500 prize. Second and third place will both be published on The London Magazine website and receive £300 and £200 respectively.
All winners will also be announced at a prestigious awards ceremony at the House of Commons in early 2015. The event will be a fantastic networking experience and gives the winners a chance to meet The London Magazine team.
We strongly advise entrants to read our publication before entering the competition in order to be familiar with the type of work we would usually publish.
The following short stories are available free on our website:
- Flowers by Mark Godfrey (Runner up in last year’s Short Story Competition)
- The Golden Hour by Frances Gapper (Runner up in last year’s Short Story Competition)
- SaltWater by Lane Ashfieldt (Featured in our February/March 2014 issue)
The deadline for submissions is 31st October 2014.
Good luck to all the entrants!
