Dear Sir,

Catching up on back issues of your magazine after a spell away from Greece, I was delighted to read the piece by Grey Gowrie on paintings by Vicken Parsons (June/July number).

With the exception of Andrew Lambirth in The Spectator there is hardly a critic who pays any attention to current exhibitions of merit in privately owned galleries. Your avowed intention to correct this lamentable situation I warmly applaud.

In addition, your excellent colour reproductions, with size, media and location of the paintings illustrated are much appreciated by

Yours sincerely,

William Pownall
